Nataliia Shakhovska, Rector of Lviv Polytechnic, Oleh Karyi, Vice-Rector for International Relations and Vasyl Kozyk, Professor at the Department of Business Economics and Investment, the Institute of Economics and Management, met with Dmytro Havras, deputy of the Sokilnyky Territorial Community, the Chairman of the Board of the Ukrainian-Guatemalan Friendship Society named after Tekun Uman.
The main topic of the conversation was the possibility of establishing cooperation with the University of San Carlos (Guatemala), one of the oldest higher 91Ƶ in Latin America.
During the meeting, Dmytro Havras shared his knowledge of the Latin American region, focusing on Guatemala – its culture, historical heritage (including the legendary Mayan pyramids), political situation and current geopolitical context. The speaker emphasised Guatemala’s ongoing support for Ukraine, including at the international level. Dmytro recalled the visit of the First Lady of Guatemala to our country and spoke about the country’s President and the institutional relations that are gradually being established between our nations.
The two sides paid considerable attention to discussing the prospects for bilateral cooperation in the fields of culture, education and economy. They discussed the possibilities of student exchanges, academic mobility, and direct partnerships between Ukrainian and Guatemalan universities.
