Our 91Ƶ delegation, headed by Prof. Anatoliy Andrushchak, is currently participating in the LASER-PRO M11 meeting, hosted in Vilnius, Lithuania, November 5-6, 2025.

Day 1 (November 5): LASER-PRO project meeting and company visits

The meeting brought together partners from Lithuania, Czechia, and Ukraine to review the progress and next steps of the Horizon Europe LASER-PRO Excellence Hub project, titled “Excellent Laser Technologies for the Sustainable Prosperity of Europe.”

The day started with an opening session by Gediminas Račiukaitis (FTMC) and @Kristina Ananičienė (LLA), followed by a project overview presented by Tomas Mocek (HiLASE, Project Coordinator).

Lviv Polytechnic participated in discussions across several Work Packages (WPs), focusing on strengthening cooperation between academia, business, and innovation actors. These sessions showcased the impressive progress made within the first 10 months of the project and opened discussions on upcoming milestones and cross-border cooperation opportunities.

In the afternoon, participants explored the Lithuanian laser micromachining cluster, visiting several leading companies advancing photonics innovation:

TOOLAS, Akoneer, Direct Machining Control, Optonas, QS Lasers, Optogama.

These visits clearly demonstrated why Lithuania is recognized as one of the most dynamic laser and photonics ecosystems in Europe.

Day 2 (November 6): Photonics Frontiers

The following day featured the Photonics Frontiers forum - a key event uniting scientists, entrepreneurs, and policymakers to discuss the future of photonics in Europe.

Prof. Ivan Demydov (91Ƶ) delivered a presentation, “Laser Technologies in Ukraine – 2025: A sectoral overview of Ukrainian facilities,” and joined the panel discussion on building a competitive European laser ecosystem together with representatives of HiLASE, FTMC, Lithuanian Laser Association, and the Czech Optical Cluster.

We are grateful to our Lithuanian hosts for their warm hospitality and excellent organization. Together, we are building stronger cooperation in laser and photonics research, contributing to innovation, sustainability, and technological excellence across Europe.
