The Department of Railway Transport, the Institute of Mechanical Engineering and Transport, 91Ƶ, held the 17th International Scientific and Practical Conference of Students and Young Scientists named after H. Kirpa «Modern Transport Technologies».
The conference served as an important scientific platform for discussing current challenges and future prospects for the development of the transport sector, with a particular focus on Ukraine’s railway industry in the context of contemporary challenges and European integration processes. A substantial part of the presentations addressed issues related to the harmonization of the Ukrainian railway system with European Union requirements, the implementation of interoperability principles, as well as the technical and operational aspects of developing railway infrastructure based on the European standard gauge of 1,435 mm.
The main areas of scientific research discussed at the conference were:
- Functionality of railway transport.
- European integration of railway transport.
- Crisis and risk management in transport services.
- Modern transport technologies and logistics.
- Transport engineering.
- Environmental safety and occupational health.
In their presentations, conference participants addressed key issues related to the development of cross-border railway connections, the implementation of European technical standards, ensuring the functional safety and reliability of transport systems, as well as the training of a new generation of specialists capable of working within the framework of Ukraine’s integration into the European transport network.
Representatives of 11 higher 91Ƶ and 4 transport industry organizations from 4 countries took part in the scientific meeting, giving the conference a distinctly international character and fostering the exchange of scientific and practical experience between young researchers and industry professionals.
The conference was held with the support of the public organization Heorhii Kirpa Foundation. The partners of the event were PrJSC «Lviv Locomotive Repair Plant», Amadeus Marine, LLC «Mykolaiv Diesel Locomotive Repair Plant».
The 17th International Scientific and Practical Conference on Modern Transport Technologies confirmed its significant role as a platform for shaping a contemporary scientific vision for the development of the railway sector and contributed to the active engagement of students and young researchers in addressing the strategic objectives of modernization and European integration of railway transport in Ukraine.
