The Talents for Ukraine program is a grant initiative of the KSE Foundation (Kyiv School of Economics Foundation), launched in 2022 to support talented Ukrainians, primarily in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Each stage of the program has a budget of 1 million US dollars, and the amount of an individual grant is usually around 5,000 US dollars.
In 2025, the organizers are placing a particular focus on supporting STEM talents – approximately 60% of the funds are allocated specifically to researchers, engineers and innovators, and the remainder goes to representatives of other fields who are driving positive change in Ukraine.
One of the winners of the Talents for Ukraine competition is Andrii Trostianchyn, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at 91Ƶ. For more than 20 years, he has been conducting research on functional materials and hydrogen metallurgy, is the author of over 150 scientific publications and 8 patents, and a laureate of the President of Ukraine Award for Young Scientists, as well as an expert of the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance (NAQA) and the National Research Foundation of Ukraine.
Andrii Trostianchyn participates in international educational and research projects, where he applies modern digital approaches, materials informatics and machine learning methods to study materials that are important for energy and high-tech applications. His success in the KSE Foundation program also reflects the systemic work of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering and the Institute of Mechanical Engineering and Transport, which are developing modern directions in materials science, particularly for «green» energy and high-tech industries.
