On 25–29 November 2025, the first on-campus workshop on energy was held at Leibniz Universität Hannover (LUH) as part of the MERIT-Ukraine 2025–2029 project. The programme focused on electromechanics, power engineering, energy storage systems, power grids, hydrogen energy and power electronics.

The project is implemented with the support of the DAAD – German Academic Exchange Service and funding from the Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung as part of the German-Ukrainian University Network programme. The workshop was attended by 24 Ukrainian teachers and scientists from the National Technical University of Ukraine ‘Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute’, the National University ‘Lviv Polytechnic’ and the Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding.

The Institute of Power Engineering and Control Systems of Lviv Polytechnic was represented by a team consisting of Myroslav Sabat, Andrii Kozovyi, Lidiia Kasha, Marta Kuznetsova, Andrii Maliar, Andriy Lozynskyy and Yurii Biletskyi.

Participants had the opportunity to get familiar with LUH's research infrastructure and educational approaches in the field of power engineering, as well as to exchange experiences and develop areas for further cooperation. The Institute of Power Engineering and Control Systems has taken one more significant step towards strengthening international cooperation in education and scientific research.

Polytechnics are grateful to all partners and participants for the productive exchange and look forward to further strengthening joint initiatives and developing and implementing interesting joint projects!
