On 18 October, Kyiv hosted PolyTECH Summit – a large-scale event that brought together over 1,200 students from 32 higher 91Ƶ of Ukraine, startups, and business. The event was the final stage of the PolyTECH EDU educational program, launched by UNIT.City with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
Among the most active participants there is the Lviv Polytechnic team led by Mykola Lohoida, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Student Development.
― Participation in the PolyTECH Summit provides our students with an opportunity to express themselves and witness the formation of a new generation of technological leaders. Events like this create a space where the future of education, innovation, and entrepreneurship takes shape, said Mykola Lohoida, Vice-Rector of Lviv Polytechnic.
According to the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the event covered three locations – Main Stage, Startup Stage and TechZone (a career fair from leading technology companies).
The main topics of the summit:
- the role of education in innovative development: what is more important – academic or practical experience;
- dual form of education: how to start building a career while still studying;
- responsible use of artificial intelligence in higher education: how to improve learning outcomes and optimize time;
- strengthening partnerships between universities and the corporate sector.
A highlight of the event was the final of the startup stage, where student teams from the PolyTECH Innovation Bootcamp presented their projects to a jury of business representatives, investors, and education experts. The winner was Score Lab – an AI-powered, all-in-one solution for university admissions that integrates test preparation, guidance for choosing a major, and personalized educational pathways.
PolyTECH Summit became a platform for sharing experiences, ideas and opportunities. Participants joined the Main Stage, Startup Stage and Tech Zone, where they discussed the path from idea to finished product, creating inclusive environments and supporting student startups.
The Lviv Polytechnic team actively participated in discussions, panel discussions and startup zones, presenting their own initiatives and vision for the development of technical education.
