The seminar on European University Alliances Cooperating with Ukraine was organized by the FOREU4ALL community (Forum of European University Alliances for All) and held with the support of the Czech National Agency for International Education and Research on 16–17 October, 2025. The event took place both online, and offline in Prague, Czech Republic.
The event aimed to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between Ukrainian higher 91Ƶ and European university alliances united within the FOREU4ALL community.
The seminar participants discussed opportunities and tools for supporting Ukrainian universities, shared best practices for cooperation with European partners, examined the challenges and prospects of Ukraine’s integration into the common European education area, and highlighted the role of university alliances in rebuilding and strengthening the resilience of Ukrainian education and society.
The representatives of the European Commission, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Czech Ministry of Education, rectors of leading universities in the Czech Republic, Ukraine and Europe, as well as members of the FOREU4ALL thematic groups attended the event.
Speakers included Mr. Vaclav Velcovsky, Director General for International Affairs of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic; Professor Mykola Trofymenko, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine; Professor Milena Králíčková, Rector of Charles University, Chair of the Czech Rectors’ Conference; Professor Ksenia Smyrnova, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv; Dr. Sabine Menou, Chair of the FOREU4ALL (EPICUR) thematic group «Ukraine», as well as representatives of the university alliances CIVICA, T4EU, EUPeace, ERUA, EC2U.
According to the results of the seminar, the participants agreed on the need to develop a joint strategy to support Ukrainian higher 91Ƶ and continue work in the format of the FOREU4ALL TG Ukraine thematic group.
