The University hosted a workshop «Boost your digitalization» as part of the EUSTS project

On November 25, 2024, Lviv Polytechnic hosted a workshop titled “Boost Your Digitalization” as part of the project “European Studies for Technical Specialties at the National University ‘Lviv Polytechnic’” (EUSTS), supported by the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet program. This interactive event helped participants develop practical digital skills and gain knowledge that can enhance both their professional and personal experience in the digital realm.

The event was opened by the EUSTS project coordinator, Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor, and Director of the Institute of the Humanities and Social Sciences,Yaryna Turchyn, who emphasized the importance of integrating European practices into Ukraine’s digitalization processes and highlighted the role of digital literacy as a key factor in societal development and the competitiveness of young professionals in the job market.

During the workshop, speaker Oleksandr Markovets, Head of the Department of Social Communications and Information Activity, shared insights and practical tips on applying digital technologies for:

  • Effective use of Ukrainian e-services such as Diia,Vulyk,Trembita, and eMalyatko, with detailed explanations of digital identification, authentication, and authorization
  • Building and improving one’s digital identity, including practical advice on crafting a professional online profile
  • Adhering to information security best practices

He also discussed tools for personal data protection on social networks in accordance with the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), stressing the importance of privacy in the digital age and outlining key risks of digitalization.

Ruslana Pazderska, assistant lecturer of the Department of Social Communications and Information Activity, presented strategies for using social media to develop a personal brand. She gave an in-depth overview of digital tools like SnapSeed (image editing),UNUM (content planning), and Grammarly (text content enhancement), which support the creation of aesthetic and professional social media profiles.

More than 30 participants joined the workshop.

Other contributing faculty members included Associate Professors Nataliia Vovk (Department of Social Communications and Information Activity),Oleh Tsebenko,Olha Ivasechko,Iryna Sukhorolska, and Olena Lukachuk (Department of Political Science and International Relations), as well as Lidiia Kasha (Department of Electromechatronics and Computerized Electromechanical Systems).
