During a working visit to the 91Ƶ, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Mykola Trofymenko visited a number of Departments of our University.
During the visit, he was shown the new electron microscopy laboratory of the Center for Collective Use of Scientific Equipment, which operates at the Institute of Chemistry and Chemical Technologies. Scientists demonstrated the operation of the latest scanning electron microscope Thermo Fisher Scientific Apreo 2 C LoVac, purchased with World Bank funds within the framework of the project of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine UIHERP (Ukraine Improving Higher Education for Results Project). The cost of this equipment exceeds UAH 20 million.
Scientists informed the Deputy Minister about the current process of purchasing a complex of equipment for the modernization and expansion of the university’s data processing center. Server equipment and specialized analytical software packages Ansys and Comsol, which will be used for scientific research, have already been partially delivered.
During his visit, Mykola Trofymenko also visited the laboratories of the Institute of Information and Communication Technologies and Electronic Engineering, where he inspected the equipment purchased as part of the projects of the Ukrainian Aerospace Hub initiated by Lviv Polytechnic.
The Deputy Minister paid special attention to the activities of the Tech StartUp School and the Lviv Polytechnic Science Park, which play an important role in the development of the university’s innovative and entrepreneurial environment.
The guest was also introduced to the activities of the Veterans Development Center at Lviv Polytechnic, which implements a number of projects aimed at the education and professional development of veterans and their families.
In addition, Mykola Trofymenko visited the new AI Lab laboratories at the Department of Artificial Intelligence Systems, the Institute of Computer Science and Information Technologies. The laboratories were created with the support of the university’s long-term partner, the IT company SoftServe.
The guest was also invited to tour the media laboratories at the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, the Institute of Law, Psychology and Innovative Education.
